Commissioned provision

EBSA, emotionally based school avoidance

Meeting pupils where they are. Not where we want them to be.

Anxiety-led, not pressure-led
Provision designed around reducing anxiety rather than increasing demand.
Pupil-led pace
Trust first, then engagement, then learning. Sessions build as the pupil is ready.
Families as partners
Close collaboration with parents and carers, and the wider team around the child.

What we provide

Emotionally based school avoidance is complex, frequently misunderstood, and often poorly served by provision that simply replicates the school environment that caused the difficulty. We take a different approach.

  • Provision designed around reducing anxiety, not increasing pressure
  • Trauma-informed, neurodiverse-affirming practice throughout
  • A gradual, pupil-led approach, building trust, then engagement, then learning
  • Close collaboration with families, who are partners in everything we do
  • Liaison with the wider team around the child where relevant
  • Flexible session structures that can increase in frequency as the pupil becomes ready

Who this is for

Pupils whose anxiety is significantly impacting school attendance and for whom mainstream attendance is not currently possible. Referrals accepted from schools and local authorities.

We know these pupils are not refusing school. They are communicating, and we listen.

Let’s work together

Ready to refer? We make it simple.

You’ll speak to someone who knows the business, and who will know your pupil.
